Enjoyed your tips. I would like to explain my technique for night hunting coyotes. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how one views coyotes they are only recently located in abundance in NC.
In NC it is legal to hunt coyotes at night and also legal to use lights and night vision It is also legal to bait for coyotes.
While I hunt year around for coyotes I have found the January February months most productive. It is to be noted that hunting at night, especially during winter months is a COLD proposition. To somewhat mitigate the cold I have heavy weight hunting apparel but I also built a hunting house ("my condo"). I also have permission to hunt a couple of friends deer hunting "condos". I have hunted these condos extensively since about 2012. Neither I nor the other condo owners have noticed that coyote hunting at night from these condos has reduced their use for deer hunting. In fact, deer hunting has improved, and we consider that a bonus due to the reduced the coyote population. By far the vast majority of the coyotes I have killed were killed from these condos.
I have established an active coyote bait pile at these condos using food scraps such as when I or a friend have had a freezer die and we lost the contents. I have also used the remains after butchering deer I and some of my friends have killed. In the past I have also used the carcasses of some road killed deer. Be sure this is legal.
I use an AR style .223 rifle with great night vision binoculars and an awesome thermal scope. Both instruments are equipped to record photos and videos. Binoculars are mounted on a tripod, always available without having the tiring task of being handheld. I have had several awesome hunts mentoring younger hunters.
I never use a call when hunting from these condos. I think this and having more than one location to hunt is a significant factor in preventing "burn out" of the bait pile.
I'm aware that while NC is now home for an ever- increasing coyote population it still falls short of many other states, especially mid and western states.
Good Luck in your future hunts.

In reply to William.

Hi William, Thanks so much for your comment. I would like to refer you to the officials on this one. here is an excerpt from their website:

Proper disposal of the carcass (incineration, burying, etc.) is critical to prevent exposure of other wildlife and humans to disease. Three common effective methods of carcass disposal are: incineration, burying, and rendering. Incineration is the preferred method to use when the carcass is diseased; however, it can also be the most expensive. An acceptable alternative is to bury the carcass. The carcass should be buried at least 4 feet deep and covered with lime to discourage scavengers from uncovering and consuming it.

That can be found at and also outlines some other recommendations and about how to handle a coyote carcass - specifically in the state of California.

I have also referred your question to each of the different regions to see if there is any difference between them. Thanks again for your question, I will update this thread as I know more - feel free to add any follow up questions. I do hope that helps,

Thanks William.

I will admit I need some help
There is a lot of random information out there that barley helps and alot of misguided information that just don’t seem right ..
And I will admit I am starting to get into coyote hunting as a hobby
I understand the how to
Lead free ammo in California
No bag limit because coyotes are considered vermin
You can hunt coyote 365 days a year .. yay ..

But the misguided info starts with
? What do you do with the carcass ?

I’ve read up and down just throw it in a ditch and use it as bait the next day you hunt

Throw it in a ditch and Barry it “4 feet deep preferable”. Or just a few inches so you can collect the skull next year

Take the carcass to the dump only

Throw the carcass in a trash bag and throw it away at home trash can

Maybe if you get Lucky you can call a taxidermist and sell it for 10$

And then there’s ranchers just hang them from a tree or fence and it’s good to go

Or that weird news article that said some guy just piled 20 coyotes in the back ally-wooded area and he was thumbs up good to go just neighbors were startled

I just really want to know what’s the right thing to do
What’s legal and not
Is it sportsman like to take it to the dump
But just bad manners to throw it in a ditch

Thank you
God bless

Thanks for reaching out and asking for a recommendation for a trainer. Unfortunately, I don't personally know any trainers in the greyhound hunting field, but I suggest checking online for trainers in your area. Also, make sure to do your research and read reviews from other customers before making a decision. Good luck with your search, and let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for your comment and sharing your positive experience with refurbished products. However, it's important to keep in mind that refurbished items may not come with all the original accessories or packaging, and the warranty may be shorter than that of a new product.

But, if you're comfortable with purchasing a refurbished product, the FOXPRO Inferno Refurb comes with a one-year warranty which is great. Do your research and read reviews before making a purchase.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
